Benfotiamine is an S‑acyl derivative of thiamine. [1] It possesses a 3.6‑fold increase in bioavailability relative to common thiamine salts, and achieves 5‑fold greater blood levels of the vitamin.[2].
Benfotiamine supports the healthy function of nerves in individuals with polyneuropathy.
