Slim System is the only diet program to formulate the most effective, proven, researched ingredients into one slimming formula, with 300 mg of pure EGCG for breast protection.
Weight gain and obesity generally occur as a result of increased energy intake and decreased energy expenditure, and are major contributors to the development and progression of disorders such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Slim System is the leading formula to promote weight loss through increased fat metabolism, blood sugar control, decreased water retention, and thermogenesis. Slim System, in combination with dietary changes and increased physical activity, is the leading formula for weight loss and better health for disease prevention and management.
To be used with a program of reduced intake of dietary calories and increased physical activity to help in weight management. Helps the body to metabolize carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Helps to support liver function. Provides support for healthy glucose metabolism. Antioxidants for the maintenance of good health.
Garcinia cambogia, 50% Hydroxycitric Acid
Garcinia contains the active ingredient hydroxycitric acid (HCA) in its fruit rind. HCA suppresses fatty-acid synthesis, lipogenesis, and appetite/food intake, and induces weight loss. Garcinia also stops the conversion of carbohydrates and proteins into fat, and enhances the ability of the liver and muscles to preferentially convert carbohydrates to glycogen.
A meta-analysis of 23 trials of Garcinia cambogia for weight loss showed a significant effect from HCA on weight loss over placebo. For example, in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study, mildly overweight females with a high-caloric diet were given Garcinia cambogia or placebo. The active treatment group achieved a significantly greater reduction in weight compared to placebo, after 12 weeks.
Coleus forskohlii Root
Coleus forskohlii initiates the release of stored fat for use as energy. Coleus forskohlii increases convertion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) by the enzyme adenylate cyclase. cAMP is a trigger that signals the body to initiate lipolysis (conversion of fat into energy). In a small human study, six overweight women were given 250 mg Coleus forskohlii, standardized to contain 10% forskolin, twice daily for eight weeks. Average weight loss at the end of the trial was 10 lb, with an 8% reduction in body fat. Blood pressure tended to be lower in all women during the trial.
Choline is an essential component of phospholipids found in cell membranes; the metabolism of fats in the liver is dependent on choline. Poor choline status is associated with fat accumulation in liver cells, that can impair liver function, and increased risk of hepatocarcinogenesis.
Inositol is a key intermediate of the phosphatidylinositol cycle, a second-messenger neuronal signaling system used by noradrenergic, serotoninergic, and cholinergic receptors. It is a lipotropic agent, therefore promotes the reduction of fatty liver, and is involved in cell-membrane synthesis.
Betaine is a potent methyl donor for methylating homocysteine. It reduces the concentration of homocysteine and increases the concentration of methionine. Inadequate levels of betaine result in dysfunctional hepatic fat metabolism, which leads to steatosis (fatty accumulation) and fatty liver.
Chromium is a cofactor in insulin signaling and helps improve insulin sensitivity, regulate blood sugar levels, reduce cravings, and regulate carbohydrate metabolism. A randomized control trial supplementing with either 0, 100, or 200 µg chromium picolinate (CrP) found that after 72 days, CrP increased lean body mass and decreased body fat. A meta-analysis of 10 double-blind, randomized controlled trials also showed a small but significant effect of body weight loss associated with chromium picolinate, compared to placebo.
Ginger and Capsicum
Ginger and capsicum are both thermogenic agents. This means that they increase the body’s basal level generation of heat. Since heat is generated by burning fat, this augments weight loss. A randomized, crossover intervention trial found that meals containing chili in lean young subjects reduced postprandial hyperinsulinemia. Capsicum may also increase fat oxidation in women, and increase carbohydrate oxidation in men.
Green Tea Extract
Green tea has been found to increase energy expenditure and fat burning in humans. A 12‑week double-blind study performed in healthy men found that tea containing 690 mg catechins was able to significantly reduce body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, and body fat mass. In another study, administration of green tea extract containing 90 mg of EGCG and 50 mg of caffeine was found to significantly increase the energy expenditure (4%) and increase fat oxidation. A review of human studies showed that green tea extract intake is associated with increased weight loss due to diet-induced thermogenesis. This effect is generally attributed to the catechin epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) content of green tea. As an added benefit, green tea extract may help prevent breast cancer development, and may offer protection in breast cancer recurrence.
Spirulina is a food rich in essential micronutrients needed to support good health and energy. Spirulina contains up to 60–70% protein, B‑complex vitamins, chlorophyll, beta-carotene, vitamin E, potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, and manganese.
Uva ursi is a diuretic herb that helps reduce water retention.
Gymnema helps regulate blood sugar levels, promoting weight loss and controlling cravings. A systematic review of 58 trials on the use of natural substances in diabetes found that Gymnema improved blood sugar control compared to the control groups. Gymnema sylvestre may be effective in controlling appetite, since blood sugar levels are a key factor in controlling appetite, and therefore may be an effective way of promoting weight loss and maintenance.
