An in-depth look at NDMAPS™ and Integrative Oncology
This initiative stands as the first of its kind in the industry. The initial focus of the pilot project revolved around integrative oncology within the practices of naturopathic doctors. Its primary objectives included providing NDs with the necessary tools for judiciously recommending evidence-based products during and after conventional treatment in integrative oncology. This support aimed to enhance patients’ quality of life and mitigate treatment-related side effects. In addition, the project aimed to provide tools for long-term care and recovery—areas in which NDs excel due to their expertise in managing chronic diseases over extended periods.
NDMAPS™ Case-Series Reporting
Central to the pilot phase was close collaboration with academic experts and practicing NDs specializing in oncology care. Their combined expertise guided the creation of tailored ingredients designed to support patients during conventional treatment and throughout recovery.
To validate the safety of these new formulations for individuals living with cancer, a structured protocol was implemented: board NDs used the products with their oncology patients over a 12-month period. Throughout the year, detailed data were collected on side effects, tolerability, quality of life, biomarkers, and overall clinical relevance for case-series reporting and quality assurance.
Products that have completed this clinical safety evaluation are marked with the NDMAPS crest on the front label.
Ask an ND about a case
Our aim is that the range of learning resources we offer — including webinars, articles, research papers, and our “Ask an ND about a case” clinical support service — will meaningfully enhance your practice. Ask an ND is designed for recent naturopathic graduates seeking guidance from our board members on clinical cases and other aspects of patient care.
